Natural Attractions
Created in 1987, the Daursky Nature Reserve is located in the south of the Trans-Baikal Territory. It is one of the few Russian reserves of the steppe zone and plays an important role in preserving the nature of the Daurian steppe ecoregion. In 1994, the Torey Lakes, which make up the main part of the reserve, received the status of wetlands of international importance. Since 1997, the reserve has been a UNESCO biosphere Reserve.
